This original handbill promotes a Happy New Year Concert from E. & F. Sunday Swing Session, presenting 2 Big Dances, 2 Great Bands, featuring Joe Liggins and Jimmy Witherspoon. These shows were held at the Oakland Auditorium and Richmond Auditorium on December 31st 1954 and January 1st 1955. This handbill was produced by the Tilghman Press company out of Oakland, CA. Their promotional material had a consistent and familiar appearance to them, similar to classic boxing style concert items from the early days of rock n roll. Very few original Tilghman Press handbills exist today, because they were printed in extremely small quantities!
