This is the FIRST APPEARANCE of this ultra scarce GLOBE Cardboard Poster in a public auction! Very few posters from the early years of the Allman Brothers Band exist, not to mention the Duane Allman era. The poster features The Allman Brothers Band at the Park Center in Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday April 17th 1971. Also on the bill were Wildfire and The Toy Factory. When a Globe poster of this high caliber surfaces for collectors, a major event has just unfolded before your very eyes!

From its opening in 1929 until its closure in 2010, Globe Poster Company in Baltimore was the go-to place for musicians, circuses, drag races, and concert producers for bold, eye-catching letterpress advertising. It's no secret that Globe cardboard concert posters are the gold standard amongst advanced collectors. They rarely show up at public auction and when they do, they are always met with enthusiastic bidding!

Just six months after this performance the band’s founder, virtuoso slide guitar legend Duane Allman, would be killed in a motorcycle accident on October 29th. This original first printing poster was made just months before the release of the Allman’s incomparable live Album “At Fillmore East”. That recording which many believe to be one of the best live albums of all time would propel the band to legendary status.

Very little material from the early years of the Allman brothers still exists today, in ANY condition! The likelihood of another example of this issue surfacing again anytime soon - if ever - is extremely slim to none. It's no secret among collectors that Allman Brothers concert posters are one of the hottest, if not THE HOTTEST segment of the marketplace right now. In recent years, we have been setting record prices with Allman's material on a consistent basis. Given the rarity and desirability of this EXTREMELY SCARCE Duane Allman relic, we expect this piece to be no different!
