This poster is signed by both artists in gold ink, Stanley Mouse and the late Alton Kelley!

With GREAT pleasure, we are offering the collecting community the very FIRST CGC Graded example of this scarce Grateful Dead issue in our auction! The Grateful Dead’s New Years shows were the highlight of the year for many of their faithful legions. Bill Graham would pull out all the stops for this annual event. The former Ice rink, Winterland, where band had performed since 1966, was the site of some of their finest performances over the years. The final Dead concert at Winterland, which fell on New Years Eve 1978, is regarded as one of the Dead’s finest performances of all at the historic venue. It was one of those nights where it all worked out seamlessly.

The accompanying HUGE original poster for that show is equally well regarded. Legendary artists Mouse and Kelley created one of their finest efforts of their longtime collaboration. The legendary “Blue Rose” is a poster that deserves a home in every San Francisco poster collection and is sure to bring the winning bidder much satisfaction now and even more with each passing year. DOUBLE SIGNED with signatures from both artists! 100% Original First Printing with no restoration, and best of all, Museum Quality Condition with no visible flaws of any kind!

It's no secret the famous Blue Rose poster has been bootlegged and pirate printings have continued to surface over the years. As we all know, CGC authentication has brought much needed integrity and stability to this very popular segment of the vintage concert materials marketplace. In November 2017, a lower condition non-CGC graded double-signed example reached $1277 in our auction. Simply by authenticating a collectible like this, in any other market it would be worth several multiples of the previously sold examples. We firmly believe a historic and popular piece like this will be no exception to those universal premiums!
