This is the FIRST APPEARANCE of this ultra scarce GLOBE Cardboard Poster in a public auction! The poster features The Allman Brothers Band at the Charlotte Memorial Stadium in North Carolina during the spring of 1973. Also on the bill was the rough & raunchy, Texas blues power-trio ZZ TOP! When a Globe poster of this high caliber surfaces for collectors, a major event has just unfolded before your very eyes!

From its opening in 1929 until its closure in 2010, Globe Poster Company in Baltimore was the go-to place for musicians, circuses, drag races, and concert producers for bold, eye-catching letterpress advertising. It's no secret that Globe cardboard concert posters are the gold standard amongst advanced collectors. They rarely show up at public auction and when they do, they are always met with enthusiastic bidding!

In early 1973, the band had just recorded their 4th studio album "Brothers and Sisters" which contained "Ramblin' Man", "Jessica", and others. It was the last album to feature bassist Berry Oakley, who unfortunately died several months prior in November 1972 from a motorcycle accident - not unlike Duane a year earlier. At this time, Dickey Betts really begin to flourish as the chief songwriter for the band. The inclusion of Chuck Leavell on piano also added a fresh flavor to the new studio material and in their legendary live performances.
