The Monterey Pop Festival was one of the most pivotal musical events in history. The festival welcomed in the “Summer of Love” and featured the first U.S. performances by both Jimi Hendrix and The Who! Printed on silver foil, this is one of the most beautiful, important, and sought after posters of the entire era, and is prominently displayed in The Art of Rock, plate 3.5.

 

Due to the unsurpassed historical significance of this poster and the incredible design, this will always be considered one of the most important and desirable concert posters ever created. We recently sold a same 9.4 CGC graded example for $5,187.00 in July 2017.
