This poster is signed in pencil by the artist Wes Wilson.

We are pleased to present the very FIRST CGC graded example of this MAJOR MUSEUM PIECE to ever appear at public auction! To fully understand the importance of this offering, we quote the timeless advice we imparted in our blog post published on January 25th, 2010 (The complete post is available on our site):

“There are certain "rules to live by" that are necessary for success no matter what collectible one is addressing. Today I'd like to share another one of these "golden rules" with you. There is one number in collectibles that is instantly more sought after and valuable than any other number and that is the number ONE. ONE as in FIRST!! The first corvette, the first Batman comic, the first U.S. coin are all immediately recognizable due to the HISTORIC IMPORTANCE of the collectible in question. Anybody and everybody can understand THE FIRST, and therefore THE FIRST of everything has an intrinsic desirability to people inside AND outside a collectible market.”

The poster offered here has been off the market since the 1980's. It is a very solid copy with the flaws noted in detail below. We also urge you to keep clicking on the magnifying glass at the top right of the photograph to get a super high def, magnified picture to examine for yourself.

There is no doubt about the UNSURPASSED HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE of this FIRST EVER FAMILY DOG POSTER.  Just 250 posters were originally printed and just 4 reported as unrestored copies have crossed the auction block in the past 10 years. Those copies brought $17,209 on 9/13, $37,950 on 3/15,$32,200 on 12/15, and $29,900 on 2/17. Of course, NONE of these posters were independently authenticated and graded by CGC as being 100% Original and restoration free. We believe that independent CGC grading is particularly important on this issue as there are many restored copies floating around , some where the work is very hard to detect.

We're thrilled to offer the collecting community this unique opportunity to get a CGC graded Family Dog #1. With today's rapidly growing market of new collectors, just a very few collections of unrestored Family Dog poster sets can ever be completed. On top of this fact, it's hard to fathom anyone making an investment of this magnitude without receiving an independent, unbiased opinion of what you are receiving for your hard earned money.

Clearly this is a poster that will become the cornerstone of a World Class collection. It is sure to bring the new owner much satisfaction now, and the appreciation and desirabilty of the this Museum Piece is sure to increase with each passing year!
