The February 2021 CGC Sale (Auction #130)
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/18/2021
This lot includes a Signed Letter of Authenticity by Jay Thelin, proprietor of The Psychedelic Shop! The short lived but historic shop closed in October 1967. The poster once graced the walls of the shop and has been in Jay Thelin's possession since.
The original first printings of BG-18 all contain specific characteristics about paper thickness and blacklight glow. They are cataloged as OP-1A, 1B, and 1C. The example you see here is OP-1B, which has a moderate, even florescence under black light. This early Fillmore poster is widely considered by many experts to be a text book example of Wes Wilson's iconic lettering.
